Anvesh Naik

Postdoc

Anvesh received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, and his Master of Technology degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. During his M.Tech, Anvesh worked on the development of a portable, powered exoskeleton to assist the ankle-joint movement during gait. Anvesh completed his PhD with Dr. Ambike at Purdue University in Health and Kinesiology, where he investigated hand-specific differences in the control of grasping forces during bimanual object manipulation.

In the lab, he is working on contextual inference under uncertainty. He is interested in understanding how the human brain integrates decision-making and sensorimotor control to generate skilled and flexible movements. By using computational and neural principles, his long term goal is to uncover the basic mechanisms that lead to dexterity.
